Grency AI Systems (an entity of Grency Enterprise) operates the GAS - YouTube Downloader Chrome Extension and GAS - YouTube Downloader Pro ("the Extension"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our Extension and associated services.

Summary: We collect minimal data — only what's needed for licensing and payment processing. We do NOT collect your browsing history, YouTube activity, personal videos, or any personal content.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Device Identification

When you use the Extension, we collect your device's motherboard UUID (a hardware identifier unique to your computer). This is used exclusively for:

  • Tracking the number of free downloads used on your device.
  • Binding your Lifetime Access license to a single physical device.
  • Preventing license abuse and unauthorized sharing.

1.2 Payment Information

When you purchase Lifetime Access or make a donation, we collect:

  • Transaction ID — A unique identifier for your payment, generated by our payment processor (PhonePe).
  • Payment amount — The amount paid in INR or USD.
  • Payment method — The type of payment (UPI, card, net banking, etc.).

We do NOT collect or store your credit card numbers, bank account details, UPI PINs, or any financial credentials. All payment processing is handled entirely by PhonePe's secure payment gateway.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be transparent about what we do NOT collect:

  • ❌ Personal browsing history or activity
  • ❌ YouTube watch history or recommendations
  • ❌ Downloaded video or audio content
  • ❌ Personal information (name, email, address) — unless voluntarily provided for support
  • ❌ Cookies or tracking pixels for advertising
  • ❌ Location data or IP addresses for profiling

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for:

  • License Management: Tracking free download counts and activating Lifetime Access licenses.
  • Payment Processing: Verifying payment status and issuing license keys.
  • Purchase Restoration: Allowing you to restore your purchase on the same device after server redeployments or extension reinstalls.
  • Abuse Prevention: Ensuring each license is used on a single authorized device.

3. Data Storage & Security

All license data is stored using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption. Specifically:

  • License records are encrypted at rest on the server using a secure encryption key.
  • Each encrypted record includes a GCM authentication tag to detect tampering.
  • The encryption key is derived using scrypt key derivation.
  • License keys are generated using HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic signatures, binding them to your hardware UUID.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • PhonePe Payment Gateway: For processing payments. PhonePe has its own privacy policy governing how payment data is handled. Visit PhonePe Privacy Policy.
  • Dedicated Windows Server: The companion server backend runs on dedicated, private Windows Server infrastructure under strict access controls.

We do NOT share, sell, or transmit your data to any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

  • License Data: Retained for the lifetime of the service to ensure your license remains active.
  • Transaction Records: Retained for accounting and verification purposes.
  • Free Download Counts: Retained on the server to track usage per device.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request Information: Ask us what data we hold about your device ID.
  • Request Deletion: Ask us to delete your license data (note: this will revoke your Lifetime Access license).
  • Opt Out: Stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from Chrome.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
